Ilaha

Ilaha

Teresa Hamlin

Ilaha is from the village of Qemervan, in the region of Qebele and is a part of the Lezgi people group.

Ilaha is working hard to build a house for her family. With a low paying job at the hospital as a cleaner, this was an impossible dream. Knitting socks has provided the money to keep this dream alive, one brick, one bucket of paint, one item at a time. Ilaha, looks forward to the day when she and her two children, ages thirteen and ten, will be able to live in their new home. She also hopes that in the future, her sons will be able to go to university, so some of the money she earns also helps pay for tutors for her older son.
