Sevinj is originally from the village of Khinaliq in the region of Quba. She lived a semi-nomadic lifestyle following her livestock until her husband and his parents settled in the area of their winter pastures in Shirvan.
Khinaliq is famous for knitting as the women in this village learned to knit like they learned to walk. She was easily able to move from socks to our mini-sweaters. Her family situation is difficult and she is rarely allowed to leave her home. She has three children and has been spending her money from knitting on her only son's education.
