Rubaba

Rubaba (on the left) had just come in from picking cherries and of course offered some to us.  She is from the village of Qalaxudat in the region of Quba.  She knits with her daughter-in-law (not pictured) who she lives with and their neighbor (on the right).  They get together and chat and knit in the evenings during the winter.  Rubaba has a different style of knitting from her daughter-in-law and neighbor as they are each from different villages in Quba which each have their own patterns and styles.  Rubaba loves to spend her earnings on spoiling her 2 young granddaughters who live with her.
