Samira lives in a very remote village in the Southern part of Azerbaijan called Pirasora, Lerik. She is a part of the Talysh people group.
She started knitting for us as a duo with her daughter, until her daughter got married and moved away. Now her son has left her to go to his mandatory military service and she uses her knitting to calm her nerves and distract her from her empty nest.
She knits lovely long socks with typical Talysh patterns. (She is a part of the Talysh people group whose language resembles closely to Farsi - the language spoken in Iran not far from her village)

I love my new mukluks that I purchased on Etsy and were made by Samira. They’re beautiful and wrap my feet in loving warmth. Thank you, Samira.
