Mahira is from the Qusar region and is a part of the Lezgi people.
She has been knitting carpets with her grandmother and mother since childhood. Since learning to knit she has been knitting socks for her family, for her children, for their dowries and for her grandchildren. Now she uses her earnings to support her sons and daughters financially, helping them with their budgets.
